University of Maine fifth-year senior forward Adrianna Smith earned some more hardware on Wednesday.
Smith was chosen the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division I Player of the Year and a member of the All-ECAC first team.
The ECAC is an intercollegiate athletics organization made up of approximately 200 schools, according to its website.
Smith was already named the America East Player of the Year for the second time in her career and earned All-America East first team honors for the third time. She was also selected to the league’s All-Defensive team.
She is also currently one of five finalists for the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award.
The winner will be announced on April 1.
The 6-foot native of Reston, Virginia, finished the season as the America East leader in scoring (22.8 points per game), rebounding (10.7) and assists (4.7) as well as double-doubles with 20.
She is eighth in the country among 359 Division I schools in scoring, tied for ninth in double-doubles, 16th in rebounds and 49th in assists.
She posted a double-double in her last 11 games and became just the eighth player since 1982 in NCAA women’s Division I basketball to average 20-plus points, 10-plus rebounds and four-plus assists in a season.
Earlier this season, she became the first America East player, male or female, to reach 1,000 career points, 1,000 rebounds and 400 assists.
She concluded her remarkable career with 1,887 career points, 7th on the school’s all-time list; 1,052 rebounds (3rd); and 431 assists (5th).
Smith scored in double figures in 31 of UMaine’s 32 games this season, scored 20 or more points 23 times and had five games with 30 or more points.
She had 15 games with five or more assists and 12 with 13 or more rebounds.
She was chosen the America East Player of the Week seven times.
Smith shot 45.1 percent from the floor, 33.3 percent beyond the 3-point arc and 77.5 percent from the free throw line. She led the team in steals with 57 and was second in blocked shots with 24.
Her 25 3-pointers are 13 more than she had hit in her previous three seasons combined.
