A Florida woman allegedly took matters into her own hands last week when her daughter’s ex-boyfriend refused to leave her Boca Raton residence.
Veronica Helena Karlsson reportedly called 911 on the morning of Tuesday, March 17, after she caught the victim in her daughter’s bedroom, reported the Boca Post. She said that the man would not leave her home, no matter how many times she told him to, according to investigators.
While speaking to the 911 dispatcher, she said she was convinced the man, who’d had a history of drug abuse, was high. She also explained he had a warrant out for his arrest, police said.
Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at the home soon after to deal with the domestic disturbance, only to discover that Karlsson, 55, had used the Taser on the victim a handful of times, officials explained.

The realtor allegedly told cops that Jonathan Patrick Navas was in her daughter’s room, and she demanded he leave. When he stuck around, she left but later returned with the Taser and told him again he needed to leave. Navas, 30, told cops he received five to six jolts to his left leg and torso.
Aside from a mark on his chest, authorities said they saw no injuries on the ex-boyfriend, according to police.
But deputies did end up arresting Karlsson on one count of open carrying of a firearm or electric weapon/device, which is a misdemeanor. She later posted a $250 bond for her release, and she is set to be arraigned April 16.
She has not been asked to enter a plea yet, and information on her attorney was unavailable at press time.
Calls were made to Karlsson on Monday, March 23, but she could not be reached for comment.
Karlsson was not charged with battery or aggravated assault, police said.

Navas was arrested back in January of 2025 in Georgia after he kept barking like a dog inside an auto parts store, according to online reports. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine and battery after police found “a clear baggie containing syringes” and “a clear crystal substance” that was later confirmed to be methamphetamine.
Navas was also arrested in January in Florida, local news outlets reported, for resisting arrest and loitering or prowling. Those charges are still pending in court, according to online records.
Efforts to reach him by phone were unsuccessful Monday, March 23.
