Bruno Mars hit back at claims he “liked” a social media diss post regarding Taylor Swift.
According to social media users and Pop Faction, who reported on the activity on Sunday, March 15, Mars, 40, allegedly hit “like” on a Friday, March 13, X post that featured a video of Swift, 36, performing. A caption read, “Genuinely how did she get famous? White privilege is crazy because imagine if an Asian was as talentless as her.”
The post appeared to have originated from social media news outlet Pop Base and was falsely attributed to K-pop band BTS’ official X account, where it does not appear.
Despite confusion over the source of the post, Mars took to X on Sunday night to praise Swift. “Taylor has always been supportive and kind to me. Only love over here,” he stated before a subsequent post read, “Spread Love on these apps!”
Taylor Swift’s Feuds: Where Are They Now?
Per Pop Faction’s reporting, Mars has “since unliked the post” after his initial alleged approval.
Both musicians are at the top of their professional game, posing for photos together at various music award ceremonies over the years. In January, Mars claimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 list for his track “I Just Might,” dethroning Swift following a 15-week reign at the top of the list for her song “The Fate of Ophelia” from her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.

Mars performed “I Just Might” during February’s Grammys, where he was nominated for three awards as a result of the success of his song “Apt.” with Rosé.
Swift has seen equally impressive success for The Life of a Showgirl, which amassed more than 5 million unit sales according to a report by Rolling Stone in December 2025.
Mars is not the only artist to have made public remarks on Swift in recent times. Earlier this month, Jack White clarified comments that led people to believe he had criticized the “Shake It Off” hitmaker.
In a March 8 interview for The Guardian, White, 50, spoke about his songwriting process, explaining that he refrains from using his personal life while writing song lyrics.

“Now it’s become very popular in the Taylor Swift way of pop singers writing about all of their publicly aired breakups, which I don’t find interesting at all,” he told the outlet at the time. “I think it’s a little bit boring for me to write about myself. Even if I’ve had a really interesting day, I feel like I’ve already lived that, I don’t need to go through it every time I sing this song.”
One day later, he took to Instagram to elaborate on his perspective.
“I didn’t say that I think Taylor Swift’s music was ‘boring’ or whatever clickbait the net is trying to scrape together,” he wrote. “What I was trying to say in an interview I did about poetry and lyric writing was that I don’t find it interesting at all for me to write about myself in my own lyric writing and poetry because I think that it could be repetitive for me to always write about and it could be uninteresting for people who listen to my music to delve into, and that imaginary characters are more attractive to me as a writer.”
