One Battle After Another finished the evening with the most wins at the 2026 Oscars.

The film earned six total awards out of its 13 nominations during the Sunday, March 15, ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles: Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson, Best Supporting Actor for Sean Penn, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Film Editing and the night’s biggest accolade, Best Picture.

“There is no Best … there is just whatever mood there might be that day,” Anderson, 55, said during his Best Picture award speech. “But we’re happy to be a part of this wonderful, wonderful journey with our fellow nominees, our fellow filmmakers, our fellow filmmakers who weren’t recognized by the Academy this year.”

Sinners was close behind, winning four of its record-breaking 16 nominations, including Best Actor for Michael B. Jordan and Best Cinematography, making Autumn Durald Arkapaw the first woman to win the category, as well as Best Original Screenplay and Best Original Score. Frankenstein took home three trophies, winning Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling and Best Production Design.

Ahead of the 2026 Oscars, Sinners broke the record for the most nods for a single film in the history of the Academy Awards. The movie’s nominations included Best Picture, Best Actor in a Leading Role for Jordan, Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Delroy Lindo, Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Wunmi Mosaku, Best Directing for Ryan Coogler, Best Casting, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Film Editing, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Music (Original Score), Best Music (Original Song), Best Production Design, Best Sound, Best Visual Effects and Best Writing (Original Screenplay).

One Battle After Another trailed closely behind with 13 Oscars nods: Best Picture, Best Actor in a Leading Role for Leonardo DiCaprio, Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Benicio del Toro and Sean Penn, Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Teyana Taylor, Best Directing for Anderson, Best Casting, Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, Best Music (Original Score), Best Production Design, Best Sound and Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay).

Frankenstein, Marty Supreme and Sentimental Value each received nine nominations, including Best Picture. Frankenstein’s additional nods were for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Jacob Elordi, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Music (Original Score), Best Production Design, Best Sound and Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay).

Marty Supreme was up for Best Actor in a Leading Role for Timothée Chalamet, Best Directing for Josh Safdie, Best Casting, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Film Editing, Best Production Design and Best Writing (Original Screenplay), while Sentimental Value was in the running for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Stellan Skarsgård, Best Actress in a Leading Role for Renate Reinsve, Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Elle Fanning and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Best Directing for Joachim Trier, Best Film Editing, Best International Feature Film and Best Writing (Original Screenplay).

As for Hamnet, the Best Picture nominee racked up eight total nods, including Best Actress in a Leading Role for Jessie Buckley, Best Directing for Chloé Zhao, Best Casting, Best Costume Design, Best Music (Original Score), Best Production Design and Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay).

Bugonia, F1, The Secret Agent and Train Dreams each earned four Oscar nominations, including Best Picture. Bugonia was also recognized for Best Actress in a Leading Role for Emma Stone, Best Music (Original Score) and Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay). F1 received nods for Best Visual Effects, Best Film Editing and Best Sound, while The Secret Agent was up for Best Actor in a Leading Role for Wagner Moura, Best Casting and Best International Feature Film. Finally, Train Dreams was nominated for Best Cinematography, Best Music (Original Song) and Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay).

Oscars 2026 Winners List: Who Won Academy Awards at This Year’s Ceremony?

Prior to the Academy Awards, One Battle After Another dominated the Golden Globes in January, taking home four trophies. The following month, the movie earned the most EE BAFTA Film Awards with a total of six wins.

Sinners reigned supreme at the Actor Awards earlier this month with two accolades. In January, the film tied with Frankenstein for the most wins at the Critics Choice Awards, with both receiving four.
