President Donald Trump has proven on many instances that he cares more for himself than he does our country. I’m citing two of the most egregious instances to me:
First, in early 2024 he urged Republicans to vote against a bipartisan immigration reform bill that Congress had been working on for months because rather than fix the immigration mess, he wanted to run on the issue in his presidential campaign.
Second, just this year he reportedly offered to unfreeze the money that had been appropriated for the New York harbor tunnel project if New York Sen. Chuck Schumer would support renaming both Dulles International Airport and New York’s Penn Station after Trump.
Trump’s need to stroke his own ego seems, in my opinion, to far exceed his desire to help America and Americans. I personally think that the largest instance of ongoing fraud in this country takes place in the White House rather than in either Maine or Minnesota.
