Bethenny Frankel recently sliced her face open while using a new beauty tool.
Frankel, 55, took to Instagram on Thursday, March 12, to share a video of herself with the skincare product she purchased on social media because “someone on here was promoting” the item.
“These balls, they’re supposed to contour your face,” she explained. “I grind my teeth and my jaw is pronounced and it hurts, so it would give some relief, and I saw red in there and I thought it was my skin.”
Frankel showed herself wiping her face with a bloody tissue after cutting her cheek with a chipped glass tube, saying, “They’re glass, and I was slicing.”

The Real Housewives of New York City alum then asked how to make herself stop bleeding.
In the social media post, Frankel urged her followers to “not believe every person who promotes something.”
“This is so scary, I was going to go down my neck,” she continued. “I could have sliced my jugular, I’m freaking out!”

The video was uploaded with a caption that read, “This happened mid video. I am fine. I’m just shook. No one said the lord’s work would be easy.”
Frankel has often used her social media to candidly document her life.
Earlier this year, Frankel shared that she was diagnosed with stage 2 chronic kidney disease after a blood test revealed she had “low” kidney function.
“[The doctor] said to me, ‘You have stage 2 chronic kidney disease,’” she said in a January Instagram video. “He said it could be a function of this traumatic experience I had years ago when I almost died from an allergy attack. It could have done damage to the kidney. It could be autoimmune.”
Frankel warned her followers to take necessary “precautions.”

“Maybe I’ll have to deal with this forever,” she continued. “But I wanted to tell you because I think it’s important to get all your blood work done. Do the follow-ups for anything that seems like an outlier. I don’t know what it means, but many of you will, hence another reason why I’m sharing, because you are part-time doctors and I love you guys.”
One month later, Frankel offered an update when she shared that her chronic kidney disease diagnosis moved into the next stage.
“Just left the kidney doctor, he said I actually have stage 3A chronic kidney disease which is right in the middle,” she said while noting that her doctor told her she is “not quite at the medication point.”
“He said my kidneys have had some damage because presumably my big anaphylactic allergy episode years ago, but it’s not quite for medication,” she continued. “I’m not going to be alarmed yet, and we’ll keep drinking water. He said it’s the most important thing.”
She concluded: “So, right now, this is a step in the wrong direction, but not to be totally alarmed and to come back and get tested in a couple of months. I have a little bit of anxiety and I’m sick to my stomach, but I’m remaining calm.”
