Music producer Labrinth might be stepping away from the music industry — for now, at least.

“I’m done with this industry,” Labrinth, 34, shared in an Instagram post on Friday, March 13. “F*** Columbia. Double f*** Euphoria. I’m out. Thank you and good night x.”

Us Weekly has reached out to Labrinth’s team and HBO for comment.

Fans were quick to show support for the music producer, real name Timothy Lee McKenzie, in the comments section. Some fans begged Labrinth to continue making music. Others stated that they were only Euphoria viewers because of Labrinth’s music in the show.

Which ‘Euphoria’ Characters Are — And Aren’t — Returning for Season 3

While the musician has been in the music industry since the 2010s, some credit the HBO series — which premiered in 2019 — as his breakout moment. Or, at least, what put him on the map. (Prior to Euphoria, Labrinth collaborated with musicians like Sia and Diplo as part of the group LSD, as well as with The Weeknd, Nicki Minaj, Eminem and Ed Sheeran.)

He was highly praised for the Euphoria score, which soundtracked the show, along with his collaboration with the show’s star, Zendaya, on “All for Us,” the song featured in the season 1 finale.

“I had initially written ‘All for Us’ for my upcoming album and when I started working on the Euphoria score, it was a no-brainer to include the track in the series as we all loved it so much,” Labrinth told GQ in 2019. “Zendaya and I didn’t actually meet until the premiere; we collaborated on it remotely for the TV show. We both got to shower each other with praises at the premiere. She’s an incredibly gifted soul.”

He offered more insight into the track’s creation and how it became Rue’s anthem during a 2019 chat with Zendaya for Interview magazine

“You helped me finish ‘All for Us.’ Sam [Levinson] showed me you guys working on it, but he was like, ‘Lab, we need the rest of this song,’” Labrinth recalled. “The story of Rue wanting to get clean and her trying to make sure she lives up to what her family and people want her to be, that made me go, ‘OK, I know what this is.’”

Labrinth took home an Emmy award in the Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics category following the show’s first season.

Labrinth returned in 2022 to score the show’s second season. He even made a cameo in season 2, episode 4, to perform “I’m Tired.” The following year, he performed at Coachella, bringing out Zendaya as a surprise guest to sing “All for Us” live.

It was assumed that Labrinth would return to work on the music for the impending third season. Earlier this month, he attended the Balenciaga 2026 fall/winter fashion show in Paris, where Euphoria creator Levinson shared never-before-seen footage from the upcoming season.

Euphoria season 3 is set to premiere via HBO next month.
