A Clifton man faces drug charges after he was allegedly driving erratically in Lincoln.
Anthony Smith, 31, has been charged with aggravated drug trafficking, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, criminal operating under the influence and operating after habitual offender revocation, according to Lincoln Police Chief Lee Miller.
Smith was allegedly driving a black Mazda CX-50, near West Broadway and Penobscot Valley Avenue, about 7:20 a.m. Monday, swerving, speeding up and slowing down, and nearly leaving the road.
When officers found him, he was apparently unconscious behind the wheel near the intersection of West Broadway and River Road, according to Miller.
Officers observed suspected drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the Mazda, and a subsequent search turned up about 500 grams of cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine, a single-shot gun, ammunition, drug paraphernalia and about $4,656.
Smith was taken to the Penobscot County Jail in Bangor, where he remained Tuesday morning, according to the jail’s website.
