
Police arrested a man at a Bangor hotel Sunday after they overheard an alleged assault.
Daniel Chapman, 32, of Bangor has been charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, assault and violating conditions of release, according to Sgt. Jeremy Brock, a spokesperson for the Bangor Police Department.
Chapman was overheard arguing with someone in the hallway of a Godfrey Boulevard hotel about 3:44 a.m. Callers reported that someone had made threats and that the argument “sound[ed] violent.”
When police arrived, officers found the argument had been moved into a room. Officers overheard threats of violence, including some involving a gun.
Officers forced their way inside when they heard Chapman allegedly assaulting someone.
He was taken to the Penobscot County Jail, where he remained Monday morning, according to the jail’s website.
