The Fort Fairfield Police Department arrested a man over the weekend on methamphetamine trafficking charges.

During a probation compliance check Saturday, police found 14.09 grams of methamphetamine and 0.79 grams of cocaine at the Limestone Road residence of 53-year-old Scott Larson, according to Police Chief Matthew Cummings.

The department also found items commonly used to weigh and package drugs for distribution, Cummings said.

Police charged Larson with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, aggravated furnishing of scheduled drugs and unlawful possession of scheduled drugs.

The threshold for aggravated trafficking in meth is 14 grams. It’s a Class A felony carrying a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.

Saturday’s arrest was the third time in 15 months Fort Fairfield police have arrested Larson on drug-related offenses.

Officers arrested Larson in December 2024 after finding 2.37 grams of cocaine in his possession during a traffic stop. He was charged with unlawful possession of scheduled drugs and operating after suspension, and was also found to have two outstanding warrants.

He was also charged in September 2025 with unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs, unlawful furnishing of scheduled drugs and unlawful possession of scheduled drugs after officers found  2.7 grams of cocaine and items used in the trafficking of illegal narcotics at his home.

Larson pled guilty October to unlawful furnishing of scheduled drugs, two counts of possession of cocaine, violation of conditions of release and operating after suspension.

He was sentenced to five years in prison with all but 90 days suspended, two years of probation and $650 in fines.

Larson is being held at the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton and is awaiting a court appearance.

“The Fort Fairfield Police Department remains committed to aggressively investigating and prosecuting those who traffic illegal drugs in the community,” Cummings said.
