The competition was fierce at SAG-AFTRA’s 2026 Actor Awards.
Kristen Bell hosted the Sunday, March 1, event, held at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles, for the third year in a row.
Bell, 45, has been the only official emcee for the annual ceremony, previously known as the SAG Awards, since 2018. (The show has often opted to go host-free.) This year, the Nobody Wants This star promised plenty of comedic fodder regarding the name change while steering clear of any political commentary.
“It’s a political-free zone,” Bell told USA Today earlier this month. “There’s something for everyone. There will be no division on the show.”

Unlike some of her fellow awards show hosts, like Nikki Glaser and Trevor Noah, Bell made a point of avoiding playfully roasting her fellow actors and instead opted to sing a song for her opening monologue.
“If I roast anyone, it’s going to be myself,” Bell told the outlet. “I like the idea of an old vaudeville act where you’re just trying to goof, maintain someone’s attention and have them walk away refreshed.”
One Battle After Another and Sinners led the film categories this year, with seven and five nominations, respectively. The Studio, meanwhile, led the TV sector with five nominations. That included a nod — and win — for the late Catherine O’Hara, who died in January at the age of 71, for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series.
