Bridgerton concluded season 4 with tributes for Nicholas Braimbridge and Tony Cooper after their respective deaths.

The second part of the show returned on Thursday, February 26, with a post-credits scene and a tribute, which read, “In loving memory of Nicholas Braimbridge, Tony Cooper.”

According to a GoFundMe campaign created by Bridgerton art director Alison Gartshore, Braimbridge died in May 2025. A cause of death was not specified for Bridgerton, who was a scenic artist for Bridgerton and its spinoff, Queen Charlotte.

“He was an expert faux finisher well known for his exquisite marbling and wood grain finishes, the knowledge of which was built up over years working with very top end interior designers and latterly within the film and TV industries,” Gartshore wrote via the fundraising page.

She continued: “I worked closely with Nick and he was an integral part of our Art department team, and was a delightful, charming, funny man — a true gent. Everyone who met him loved him and we as a team are all very upset by his passing, he will be greatly missed.”

Cooper, meanwhile, was a unit driver for both Bridgerton and Queen Charlotte.

Season 1 of the hit period drama debuted in 2020 with Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon (Regé-Jean Page) as the main focus of the show. The Netflix series, which is based on Julia Quinn‘s books, highlighted Anthony’s (Jonathan Bailey) love story with Kate (Simone Ashley) two years later.

Before Bridgerton returned with Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) as the focus, Netflix expanded the universe with the prequel series Queen Charlotte, which premiered in 2023.

Queen Charlotte introduced the young Queen Charlotte’s (India Amarteifio) rise to prominence and power after she exchanged vows with King George III (Corey Mylchreest).

In addition to exploring the characters originally brought to life by Rosheuvel and James Fleet, who played present-day King George, Queen Charlotte also focused on young Lady Danbury (Arsema Thomas) and Violet Bridgerton (Connie Jenkins-Greig).

Season 4, meanwhile, explored Benedict’s (Luke Thompson) romance with Sophie (Yerin Ha). Netflix later confirmed that the show will be returning for seasons 5 and 6 with Eloise (Claudia Jessie) and Phillip Crane (Chris Fulton) or Francesca (Hannah Dodd) and Michaela (Masali Baduza) next in line.

“We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film and then they have to be edited and then they have to be dubbed into every language,” Brownell told The Hollywood Reporter in June 2024 about finding time for every member of the Bridgerton family. “The writing takes a very long time as well, so we’re kind of on a two-year pace. We’re trying to speed up, but somewhere in that range.”

Although some fans have expressed frustration with the seasons going out of order from the books, Quinn defended the decision.

“With books or film or television, they have different needs … to make them work well, and they have different strengths,” she explained to Us. “Certain things that work great in the book don’t necessarily work well on television. And so, one of the things about the television show, which they changed up a bit [that] was necessary, was to turn it a little bit more into an ensemble.”

Bridgerton is currently streaming on Netflix.
