Hyacinth is eager to enter the marriage mart in Bridgerton season 4, which will play out in due time.
“I think [it’s] natural when you’re younger, and you have a sibling that you look up to,” Florence Hunt, who portrays the youngest Bridgerton sister onscreen, told Variety in January 2026. “Hyacinth’s got seven older siblings, and they’re going through these adult situations, and her main exposure to the world is through her siblings. As a younger child, you’re desperate to get there and join them on that journey, but you can’t quite comprehend the fact that you’re younger and that can’t happen yet.”
She continued, “You want to be on the same level as them, and Hyacinth is really trying to join in with her older siblings.”
Bridgerton is based on author Julia Quinn’s eight-book regency romance series about a family of eight siblings’ respective journeys to find love.

Keep scrolling for a breakdown of Hyacinth’s book journey — and what that could mean for the Netflix series:
What Is Hyacinth’s Book About?
Hyacinth takes center stage in Julia Quinn’s seventh Bridgerton book, It’s In His Kiss, where she falls in love with Lady Danbury’s grandson Gareth St. Clair.
“Gareth St. Clair is in a bind. His father, who detests him, is determined to beggar the St. Clair estates and ruin his inheritance,” a book summary reads. “Gareth’s sole bequest is an old family diary, which may or may not contain the secrets of his past … and the key to his future. The problem is — it’s written in Italian, of which Gareth speaks not a word.”
Gareth subsequently entrusts Hyacinth to help translate the journal despite her less-than-perfect Italian lessons. Even so, Gareth and Hyacinth grow closer throughout the journey.
How Does Hyacinth’s Book End?
It’s In His Kiss ends with Hyacinth and Gareth falling in love and getting married. They ultimately go on to welcome two children, George and Isabella.
Where ‘Bridgerton’ Season 4 Ties Into Hyacinth’s Journey

In Bridgerton season 4, Hyacinth (played by Florence Hunt) is a teenager attending finishing school. She holds her first-ever ball with other preteens of the ton in Part 2, where she’s eager for a suitor to express romantic interest and offer her a glass of lemonade.
Season 4 focuses on the love story of Hyacinth’s older brother Benedict (Luke Thompson) and the family’s maid Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha).
“It would be fun to see how [Hyacinth] finally gets introduced into the marriage mart,” Hunt told Variety in January 2026. “We’ve had so many seasons of building up to her presentation into society and meeting these possible suitors that I’m really excited to see how she actually copes in those situations, because it’s something that she desires.”
Why Are ‘Bridgerton’ Fans Worried Characters Will Be Recast After Changes?
Will Hyacinth Eventually Take the Lead on ‘Bridgerton’?
While Bridgerton has already been renewed for seasons 5 and 6, it is likely that Eloise (Claudia Jessie) and Francesca (Hannah Dodd) will be the next franchise leads. That being said, both author Julia Quinn and executive producer Shonda Rhimes have high hopes that all eight siblings will get their own season. (In addition to Hyacinth, Will Tilston’s Gregory also has yet to become the Bridgerton lead.)
“It would be an absolute honor to just even see what happens in her life,” Hunt told Variety in January 2026 of headlining her own season of Bridgerton. “Obviously, I’ve read the book — I know what the end goal is, but to be able to stick with her through that would be an absolute dream. Fingers crossed I will, but it’s also nerve-racking. Bridgerton is a huge, huge show, and you carry a lot of pressure to entertain everyone on that season.”
Would ‘Bridgerton’ Recast Hyacinth in Her Future Season?
Given that Florence Hunt is a teenager as of 2026, fans have been concerned that she could be recast with an older actress whenever Netflix adapts It’s In His Kiss.
“Jess [Brownell, the showrunner] has said the next two seasons will be either Eloise and then Francesca or Francesca and then Eloise, which makes sense. It takes a few years to film, so by the time we get to Hyacinth and Gregory, [their] actors are going to be well into their 20s,” author Julia Quinn told Us Weekly in February 2026. “So, I think it’ll probably be OK. Will it be weird that we knew them when they were 12? We see child stars grow up all the time.”
Gareth also has not yet been cast.
The first four seasons of Bridgerton are now streaming on Netflix.
