Senior Maddie Cronkite scored eight points during a 10-2 run in the second period that broke open a close game and sent the third-seeded Camden Hills High School girls basketball team on their way to a 59-31 victory over sixth seed Brunswick in their Class A quarterfinal at the Augusta Civic Center on Friday afternoon.

Camden Hills, now 16-3, will take on the winner of the quarterfinal between second seed Hampden Academy and No. 7 Lewiston in Wednesday’s 2:30 semifinal in Augusta.

Senior guard Leah Jones scored a game-high 18 points for the Windjammers. Cronkite finished with 15 and junior guard Thea Laukka contributed 13 points.

Following a Lomichkova basket for Brunswick, Cronkite answered with a pair of 3-pointers before Leah Jones capped the flurry with a lefthanded layup to make it 23-10.
