Savannah Guthrie shared a new message nearly two weeks after her mother, Nancy Guthrie, went missing in Arizona.
“Our lovely mom. 💛,” Savannah, 54, captioned an Instagram post on Thursday, February 12, alongside a montage of throwback videos and photos. “We will never give up on her. Thank you for your prayers and hope.”
Nancy, 84, was reported missing on February 1. According to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, Savannah’s sister, Annie Guthrie, was the last person to see Nancy on January 31.
“We have a start point,” Nanos exclusively told Us Weekly. “The family took her home from dinner at about 9:30 to 9:45 [p.m.] … We’ll just take it, one hour, one minute at a time, and kind of look at the digital evidence we’ve been able to obtain, the data we have, and try to look at it, claim by claim. By minute, hour by hour until we’ve got something that says, ‘This is it.’”
Sheriff Addresses Possible Motive in Savannah Guthrie’s Mom’s Disappearance
Nanos added that police found concerning evidence at Nancy’s home that indicated she might be “in danger.”
“I wish somebody would call us and say, ‘Hey,’ because that’s what the family wants,” he told Us. “They just want her back.”

Before her mom’s disappearance, Savannah last appeared on the Today show on January 30. She shared a powerful message via Instagram days later with a photo that read, “Please Pray.”
“We believe in prayer. We believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. We believe in goodness. We believe in humanity. Above all, we believe in Him,” she wrote on February 2. “Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant. Raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment. We need you.”
Savannah referenced a Bible verse before concluding, “Bring her home.”
Amid speculation about who might be involved in Nancy’s disappearance, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department issued a statement on February 4 denying there were any possible suspects. The FBI later released surveillance photos and video of a person wearing a mask and gloves attempting to break into Nancy’s home. A man was brought in for questioning later that day, but has since been released.
According to authorities, more than 4,000 calls came into the Pima County Sheriff’s Department within 24 hours after footage of the subject was released. More than 18,000 tips have been received since Nancy went missing.
Savannah Guthrie’s Mom’s Friend Addresses Whether Nancy Has Any ‘Enemies’
As the search continues, Nancy’s community is keeping her in their prayers. “I think everybody is not only holding out hope but doing a lot of praying, and that’s pretty much about the only thing I know,” close friend Mary Ann Blevins exclusively told Us. “I don’t know anything else. Anything else we know is pretty much from the news.”
Blevins said Nancy “doesn’t have any enemies at all” while reflecting on the “freaky” incident.
“I’ve contacted a lot of friends in the country and outside the country, in different places, letting them know what is happening,” she continued. “People that I know … or our contacts and asking for their prayers. So, I have prayers all over being said for her. We’re always praying, and we’re just asking God to be with her and get her home. And we’re hoping for better news today.”
