PORTLAND —In an effort to provide those who are starting or growing their business with free services, mentors and workshops that can help, Norway Savings Bank is pleased to donate $8,000 to SCORE Maine to continue the bank’s ongoing support of the organization.
SCORE Maine mentors offer expertise, personalized guidance and resources in business development and financial consulting free of charge. The services span a variety of business sizes from a startup to a company managing large growth. Mentors are successful business professionals who volunteer their time and experience.
“Our mission is to foster vibrant small business communities through mentoring and education,” said Nancy Strojny, district director of SCORE Maine. “These entrepreneurs receive real and beneficial education in many areas. Norway Savings Bank’s continued support has been instrumental in our achievements over the years. We simply could not have done it without NSB.”
Last year, SCORE Maine helped over 500 new businesses start, assisting in the creation of over 1,700 jobs. The organization also facilitated over 4,000 client sessions and more than 2,600 people attended 110 local workshops and webinars.
“NSB takes a lot of pride in nurturing the enthusiasm and energy of local entrepreneurial talent. Assisting SCORE Maine in helping business owners achieve their goals in smart and secure ways is a privilege for us as the organization is creating jobs, driving innovation, and contributing to the betterment of our economy,” said Dan Walsh, president and CEO of Norway Savings Bank. “We’re grateful for the network of support and education SCORE Maine has cultivated and continues to grow.”
