The real estate market in Maine slows down during the winter, but some homes are still changing hands.

These five homes, which are scattered across the Queen City, sold in the last few weeks. The properties, all listed by ERA Dawson-Bradford Co. Realtors, paint a picture of what local buyers are looking for and what they can afford.

The average sale price of the five properties is $281,000 — slightly more than the median price of a Bangor home, which now sits at roughly $272,600, according to Zillow. All of the homes sold for less than their initial asking price.

Located on a quiet suburban area off Union Street on Bangor’s west side, this three-bedroom, two-bathroom home sold on Jan. 26 for $215,000.

That’s significantly less than the nearly $255,000 asking price the home had when it was first listed in May 2025.

Built in 1910, the single-family house offers slightly more than 2,200 square feet with a back deck, bonus room and master bedroom that features cathedral ceilings with skylights and exposed beams.

The home’s recently updated kitchen includes new flooring, quartz countertops, freshly painted cabinets and more.

The 1,040-square-foot home sold on Jan. 30 for $205,000, slightly less than its initial asking price of $210,000.

The unit is at the end of a row of townhouses, meaning the home gets more natural light than its neighbors. It also offers a spacious back patio and an open loft space that could be closed later to make a third bedroom.

Built in 1887, this three-bedroom, two-bathroom Queen Anne-style home sits on the corner of West Broadway and Union Street, down the road from Stephen King’s Bangor estate.

The house was built for Langdon Chilcott, a dentist who moved to Bangor in 1884 after practicing in Bar Harbor and Ellsworth. He later served on the Bangor City Council and formed the Bangor Rifleman Association, according to the Bangor Historical Society.

Today, the 2,822-square-foot home still offers a large front porch, detached two-bay barn, decorative fireplaces, spiral staircase, walk-through pantry and more.

The property sold on Feb. 4 for $350,000, far less than its initial asking price of $379,000.
