Kid Rock is determined to explain that the poor audio quality of his Turning Point USA halftime show performance wasn’t his fault.
In a five-minute video posted via social media on Tuesday, February 10, Kid Rock, 55, addressed the “fake news media and all the trolls that are piling on trying to say I was lip-synching on the Turning Point USA halftime.”
Many on social media speculated that Kid Rock was lip-synching during his performance of his song “Bawitdada” during the halftime show, which aired on Sunday, February 8.
When Kid Rock saw the first cut of the performance, which was pretaped, he complained that “the sync was off.”

“It was very difficult for them because obviously somebody wasn’t super familiar with the song,” he said.
Kid Rock and his DJ, Freddie “Paradime” Beauregard, then launched into an impromptu performance of “Bawitdaba,” attempting to show that they didn’t need to rely on lip-synching to get the job done.
“I know those guys had a difficult time getting that sync together, but I have nothing but good things to say, not only about Turning Point, but the production team that they worked with on this and other events they’ve done is top-notch, first class on the way,” Kid Rock said. “Nobody’s perfect and gets it right every time.”
Kid Rock then flashed a middle finger to the camera “for the haters and the trolls out there.”
“By the way, most of you know this if you have any inclinations [about] the entertainment world,” Kid Rock said of the alleged audio snafu. “You could look at that and be like, ‘Oh, the sync’s off.’ But no, they had to lie and say, ‘Oh, he was lip-synching.’ The problem is, people amplify this all over the internet. I know most people don’t even care. But there’s certain people that keep repeating it so people think it’s a fact.”
The Turning Point USA All-American Halftime Show was organized as alternative programming to Bad Bunny, who performed the Super Bowl LX halftime show on Sunday, February 8.

Kid Rock gave his review of the Puerto Rican rapper’s performance during an interview on Monday, February 9, telling Fox News he “didn’t understand any of it.”
“I saw there’s a lot of dancers and a lot of big to-do stuff,” he said on The Ingraham File. “And, you know, he said he wanted to have a dance party. It looked like he had one.”
Kid Rock continued, “Not my cup of tea, but I don’t fault that kid for doing the Super Bowl, getting in front of a global audience. I fault the NFL for putting him in that position and Turning Point for having to come out and have an alternative for people to watch. You know, it’s just … poor kid.”
Bad Bunny’s halftime show averaged 128.2 million viewers, the fourth-most halftime show viewers in history, behind just Kendrick Lamar in 2025, Michael Jackson in 1993 and Usher in 2024.
