A man has been arrested and was charged with manslaughter after he allegedly admitted to killing his sister when they got into an argument about how loud her music was.
Giuseppe Musella has been accused of stabbing his 22-year-old sister, Jlenia Musella, in Naples in southern Italy on Tuesday, February 3, according to L’Unione Sarda, Rai News and Il Mattino. The outlets cited the Naples Prosecutor’s Office and investigators from the Naples Flying Squad, which is a specialized unit of the Italian state police.
After Giuseppe, 28, allegedly stabbed Jlenia, L’Unione Sarda reported that he dropped her off at a local hospital. Jlenia died shortly after she was taken to the facility for treatment.
Giuseppe allegedly turned himself in and confessed to killing her, and he also reportedly shared his version of what happened before her ultimate death.

He told investigators that he and Jlenia started fighting over her “loud music” she was playing as he tried to rest, and their argument quickly became physical as they shoved, punched and slapped each other, according to L’Unione Sarda and Rai News.
Giuseppe then said that he threw a knife at Jlenia, which hit her in the back.
“We argued because she wouldn’t let me sleep, I threw the knife while her back was turned but I didn’t think I would hit her,” he allegedly told investigators, per Il Mattino.
Not only was he upset about the volume of the music, but Giuseppe also allegedly told investigators he was mad at his sister because she kicked his dog. Il Mattino reported that Jlenia allegedly kicked the dog when the siblings were arguing.
After Jlenia died in the hospital, police launched a manhunt for Giuseppe when they spotted his vehicle on a hospital security camera, according to Il Mattino. It was not until the manhunt began that Giuseppe turned himself in for the crime.
An arrest warrant stated that Giuseppe has been charged with aggravated voluntary manslaughter, according to Il Sole 24 Ore and Rai News. It is not currently clear if he has entered a plea or retained legal representation following his arrest.
“My life ended with my sister’s. I don’t want a lawyer, I want to go to jail. I just hope the judge gives me the maximum sentence,” he told investigators, according to Il Mattino.

Giuseppe and Jlenia are no strangers to crime, as L’Unione Sarda reported that their stepfather is reportedly known for conducting local illegal businesses in their area. Both their stepfather and their mother are currently in prison for crimes, though it’s not currently known what they did to end up behind bars.
He is currently being held at the Secondigliano prison in Naples as police continue their investigation into Jlenia’s death. It is not clear if he has been given bond.
Jlenia was mourned by her friends following her death. “She was like a ray of sunshine, always glowing – it’s unthinkable that her smile is gone,” one person told a local Italian outlet, according to The Sun.
