Josh Allen can’t wait for the newest member of Bills Mafia to arrive.
“I’ve got siblings that have kids, I’ve got a lot of friends that have kids and I don’t know if you can plan too far in advance,” Allen, 29, said in a press conference on Thursday, January 29, when asked about balancing football and fatherhood. “I’m very much looking forward to that with my wife.”
The Buffalo Bills quarterback married actress Hailee Steinfeld in May 2025, announcing in December 2025 that they are expecting their first baby.
“Becoming a dad [is] something that I will take with great pride,” Allen told reporters on Thursday. “We’re going to have to figure things out on the go, just like anything else. This is the most important thing I’ll be in my life — being a dad.”
Pregnant Hailee Steinfeld Shows off New Glimpse of Her Baby Bump
He continued, “I know I love being a football player and I love being a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, but I’m looking forward to this one.”
Steinfeld gave the first glimpse of her pregnancy in a special edition of her “Beau Society” newsletter celebrating her 29th birthday.
“As I step into my 29th year as a softer, stronger version of myself, I want to appreciate some of my favorite moments from this year, both big and small,” she wrote, sharing a list of gratitudes.
The 29th item on the list was “this video,” referring to footage of Allen kissing Steinfeld’s bare baby bump in the snow. Days later, Allen broke his silence on his wife’s announcement.

“I’ve known for a long time, right? So it’s not that crazy to me,” he joked to reporters last month. “But yeah, I mean, obviously the love that I’ve received from teammates and friends, it’s a really cool special moment in my life, and my wife’s life.”
Steinfeld later brought her “new plus one” to the 2026 Golden Globes, cradling her bump on the red carpet. Allen, however, had a Bills playoff game that same day.
“The day of the Globes, something exciting was on TV that I’m sure you were all watching. Kickoff just happened to be at the same time as glam,” Steinfeld wrote in a newsletter sent January 16. “I was a little (lot) distracted.”
She continued, “My glam team is incredible at what they do and worked around my constant movement. Andrew [Fitzsimons, my hairstylist] warned me every time an iron was close to my face, so I didn’t accidentally burn myself.”
Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen’s Timeline: From 1st Date to 1st Pregnancy
In Allen’s absence, Steinfeld brought her mother to the Golden Globes, where she served as a presenter.
“I got to put on a gorgeous Prada dress to spend a night out with my new plus one and reconnect with friends I haven’t seen in years,” the Sinners actress gushed at the time, calling her gown the “perfect” outfit choice for the ceremony. “The fabric flowed over my bump just so. I loved the peach-pink color and how the beading made it look almost liquid.”
She continued, “It felt like the perfect balance of feminine, beautiful, elegant and a little whimsical. Magically, it needed no alterations other than lengthening the slip a few inches. And it’s Prada — kind of a no-brainer.”
Allen later shared his approval over Steinfeld’s maternity look, posting red carpet photos via social media with a drooling emoji.
