Winter storm brought record snowfall to Bangor

Snowfall totals from the winter storm that blew into Maine on Sunday night and lasted through Monday show that a new record has been set in Bangor.

According to the Caribou office of the National Weather Service, the observed total of 11.7 inches of snowfall from the recent storm beat a daily record of 7.3 inches that was set in 1988. Bangor has seen a total of 46.5 inches of snowfall between the period starting in July and ending at the current date. As of Tuesday, the area has around 13 inches of snowpack.
