The driver of a school bus that collided with a car in Ellsworth earlier this month has been charged.
Daniel Morse, 57, of Hancock was issued summons for driving to endanger, changing course of travel when unsafe and parking/standing on left with lighted headlamps, according to the Ellsworth Police Department.
Morse was driving an Ellsworth school bus north on Route 1A, also known as Bangor Road, about 5:11 p.m. on Jan. 15 when he allegedly went into the southbound lane to turn around at Cove Way.
That’s when Michael Sarran, 26, of Southwest Harbor crashed a sedan into the side of the bus, Ellsworth police said Tuesday morning.
Sarran was taken to the hospital, where he remains with serious injuries.
Four students on the bus, ages 12, 14 and 16, and Morse suffered minor injuries.
Morse received his summons on Jan. 22.
