Police arrested a Van Buren man on Jan. 10 after he allegedly waved a gun at another customer in the Caribou McDonald’s drive-thru.

William Sullivan, 32, was charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and endangering the welfare of a child, Caribou Detective Sgt. Chad Cochran said Friday.

Police were called to the restaurant after an argument broke out between customers in line at the drive-thru, Cochran said.

Sullivan was reportedly upset and was berating an employee through the speaker.

“As he was shouting at the employee, another customer got involved and they exchanged words,” Cochran said.

Sullivan brandished a gun but did not fire it, he said. No one was injured.

Officer John Stewart arrested Sullivan at the scene, Cochran said.

Sullivan has since been released on bail and is awaiting a March 5 court date.
