A Bangor woman died after crashing into a tree in Levant on Wednesday.
Libby Toothaker, 28, was driving near the intersection of Union Street and Stetson Road East, near Ollie’s Market, about 4:18 p.m. when she crashed head-on into the tree, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.
First responders rendered first aid to Toothaker before taking her to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where she succumbed to her injuries, the sheriff’s office said Friday.
The crash remains under investigation.
