The number of homes sold in Waldo County last year surged compared with 2024.

Nearly 480 homes in Waldo County sold in 2025 whereas only 409 houses in the region sold the year before, the Maine Association of Realtors announced on Wednesday. The median home price in the county also ticked up by 1.4% from last year to reach $355,000 in 2025.

Here are four properties in Waldo County that sold recently, which show what buyers in the midcoast are looking for. All of the properties were listed by Belfast-based Maine Country and Coast Real Estate.

10 Mosman St., Searsport

The property, which sits on a .4-acre lot, was initially listed for $349,000 but closed on Jan. 6 for $330,000. That’s roughly $30,000 more than the average home price in the area, according to Zillow.

In addition to offering a one-car detached garage and a large basement, portions of the home also have water views of Searsport Harbor. The property is also down the street from Mosman Park, a large public park with a playground.

This roughly 1,460-square-foot doublewide with an open concept design in Monroe, sits on 2 acres.

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom home was built in 2023 and listed for $275,000, but sold on Dec. 9 for $225,000. That’s almost $50,000 cheaper than the average home value in the town, which sits at nearly $271,000, according to Zillow.

The master suite includes a private bathroom and plenty of closet space while the ranch’s kitchen has ample cabinet space. The home also has a small but covered front porch.

Initially listed for $295,000, this three-bedroom, two-bathroom ranch in Northport sold on New Year’s Eve for $280,000. That’s a steal compared with the average cost of a home in Northport, which Zillow places around $440,000.

With slightly more than 1,100 square feet of living space, the home has nearly 2 tree-filled acres and is a 10-minute drive from downtown Belfast.

Built in 1975, the cozy home has a large, two-level back deck and a large basement that offers plenty of storage space.

This four-bedroom, two-bathroom home in Brooks offers just shy of 2,300 square feet of living space and sits on 45 acres with sweeping views and two reclaimed ponds.

The home was first listed with an asking price of $839,000, sold on Dec. 15 for $730,000. That’s more than double the cost of an average home in Brooks, which reached $269,000 as of Thursday, according to Zillow.

Built in 1850, the home has been renovated to include refinished hardwood floors, new doors and windows, marble countertops, and updated appliances. The lot includes two oversized barns, two cabins that could be guest homes or rental properties, a greenhouse and more.
