Chris Pratt has revealed the sweet but strange Christmas gift he received from father-in-law Arnold Schwarzenegger.
“Arnie’s love language is going all out with his gifts,” Pratt, 46, said during the Thursday, January 8, episode of The Graham Norton Show. “One of ours was a six-by-eight-foot portrait painting of our three children and him dressed as Santa Claus.”
Pratt called Schwarzenegger’s painting “the most beautiful portrait you’ve ever seen,” adding that it’s “very lifelike and it’s very big.” However, he added, “We’re not sure what we’re meant to do with it for the rest of the year.”
Fellow guest Dawn French joked, “You can’t regift that really, can you?”

Pratt previously opened up about Schwarzenegger’s gift-giving abilities during an August 2025 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
“He’s so good at giving personalized gifts, like quilts with our faces,” Pratt said at the time. “And for Mother’s Day, he had me bring all the children over, and he set up a whole painting party. It was very cute to see the Governator, you know, painting with the girls. And he had the girls make handprints.”
Arnold, 78, became Pratt’s father-in-law when the Guardians of the Galaxy star married Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2019. (Katherine, 36, is one of Arnold’s four children with ex-wife Maria Shriver. The Terminator star is also a father to son Joseph, 28, with Mildred Patricia Baena.)
After their wedding, Pratt and Katherine went on to welcome three kids of their own: daughters Lyla, 5, and Eloise, 3, and son Ford, 14 months. Pratt also shares son Jack, 13, with ex-wife Anna Farris.
Arnold has made it clear that he loves his role as a grandfather. Back in February 2024, he gushed about his favorite pastimes with Pratt and Katherine’s kids.
“Katherine and Chris, her husband, they come over to the house at least, I think, once a week. And then I play with the animals with them,” he said. “We have a great time. I put them on the back of the miniature donkey … And then, one time, one wanted to ride the pig. I said ‘No, no. The pigs — you don’t ride pigs.’”
However, Arnold lamented that the kids are “a little spoiled.”
“Because when I took them to the stall and ask[ed] them to help me, you know, shovel the manure, they said no,” he continued. “Chris right away said, ‘No, no. They are not brought up to do that.’”

Arnold has also praised Katherine’s parenting skills.
“It’s nice to see your kids having kids themselves and to watch this new dimension,” he told People in 2023. “You see them growing up, and you see them going to school and getting smart and getting their degrees, getting their jobs and all this. But now seeing them be a parent? It’s fantastic. It’s really great.”
Arnold and Pratt have formed a close bond, as well, with the Twins star revealing on the “New Heights” podcast in 2024 that he’s “really happy” Katherine found her now-husband.
And that he has found her because they fit really well together, and they just look wonderful together. They’re so in love with each other,” Arnold added.
