The fiancée of Baltimore Ravens kicker Tyler Loop made her Instagram private after Loop missed a potentially playoff-clinching field goal on Sunday, January 4 — but not before her comments were flooded by angry fans.
“Hope you get divorced,” one person wrote via Instagram. Another said, “Still have time to cancel the wedding.”
Loop, 24, got engaged to Julia Otto in March, whose Instagram was public until the morning of Monday, January 5.
The night before, Loop missed a 44-yard field goal with two seconds remaining that, in all likelihood, would have sent the Ravens to the playoffs. Instead, the Pittsburgh Steelers earned a 26-24 victory and advanced to the NFL’s Wild Card Round against the Houston Texans on Monday, January 12.

Loop’s Instagram remains public, where the comment section is no less vitriolic.
“Don’t go back to Baltimore buddy 😭😭,” one person wrote on one of Loop’s recent posts.
Another said, “Arby’s is hiring bud.”
Loop was drafted by the Ravens in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft and officially named Baltimore’s starter kicker before the season began, replacing longtime Ravens kicker Justin Tucker who was released by the team in May after being accused of improper conduct with at least 16 massage therapists.
“For it to end like that sucks, and I want to do better,” Loop told reporters after the game. “Unfortunately, the nature of the job is you have makes, and those are awesome, and unfortunately, you have misses, and for that to happen tonight sucks.”
When asked what he was thinking when he saw the kick miss the uprights, he said, “I couldn’t even remember. It just sucks.”
Loop explained he knew he had missed the kick as soon as it left the ground.
“The second it made contact with my foot, I felt it lower,” Loop said. “We talk about hitting on the fourth lace of the shoe. It felt a little lower down the foot and hit it thin.”
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was questioned after the game if his team could have done more to make it an easier field goal attempt for his rookie kicker.
“It was a close kick. You want to center the ball,” Harbaugh, 63, told reporters. “We wanted to make sure we got the kick. We didn’t want something bad to happen on the run. I don’t think that was a bad decision.”

Loop and Otto celebrated their engagement with a joint Instagram post in March.
“Going to spend forever wondering how I got this lucky,” Otto wrote alongside pictures from Loop’s proposal. “I cannot wait to marry my best friend and the best guy I’ve ever known, I love you @tyler_loop!”
The next day, Loop shared some additional photos from the proposal via Instagram and wrote, “Keeping her in the Loop! There’s not a hand under heaven that I’d rather hold! To my best friend, I love you @juliaaotto.”
Loop first shared a photo of himself and Otto via Instagram in September 2024, when he was still a student-athlete at the University of Arizona.
