Cooper Flagg picked up right where he left off to start 2026, providing a pair of rim-rocking dunks in a New Year’s Day game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Dallas Mavericks rookie recorded his 33rd and 34th slams of the season in the first quarter of Thursday night’s game, both in transition.
In the first sequence, Flagg hauled down a tough defensive rebound to start a fast break with an outlet pass to teammate Naji Marshall. Flagg got the ball back from Marshall in the lane and soared up for an emphatic one-handed slam.
Flagg did it all himself on the second dunk, stealing an attempted 76ers pass and going the other way for an uncontested two-handed flush.
The 6-foot-9 forward from Newport, Maine, finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and seven assists on the night. The Mavericks fell to the 76ers 123-108.
