Hundreds gathered in Pickering Square late Wednesday night to usher in the start of the new year.
The dropping of a large lit-up beach ball off the top of the parking garage capped a night of celebrations to mark the arrival of 2026. The Downtown Countdown, presented by Downtown Bangor Partnership and WKIT 100.3, included music, drinks, a fairy tale ball, a photo booth, live music and more.
The Wabanaki Public Health and Wellness Ball Drop, presented by the Law Office of Hunter J. Tzovarras, was accompanied by live music from DJ ICE GHO$T.
