If there’s one thing to look forward to in 2026, it may just be the amount of spinoffs and prequels coming to the small screen.
Although 2025 saw the premieres of critically acclaimed series, including Adolescence, MobLand and The Pitt, the next 12 months may be dominated by spinoffs.
For starters, reality TV viewers are more than thrilled to see the Real Housewives franchise expand on the East Coast with the premiere of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
As for Yellowstone fans, they may be treated to two spinoffs, including The Madison and Y: Marshals.
Which TV Shows Are Renewed in 2025-2026?
Other shows are switching things up in the new year with The Voice introducing a three-coach face-off where strategy, risk and legacy collide.

‘The Valley: Persian Style’
Shahs of Sunset alumni Reza Farahan, Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi and Mercedes “MJ” Javid are back together again in a spinoff of The Valley, which follows a tight-knit group of Persian friends who have traded Beverly Hills for suburban life in the Valley.
As the cast juggles marriages, parenthood and thriving careers, cracks in their relationships – both between lovers and friends – begin to emerge.

‘Iyanla: The Inside Fix’
Nearly five years after Iyanla: Fix My Life aired its final episode on OWN, life coach Iyanla Vanzant is back on TV. This fresh series revisits 12 of the most unforgettable episodes from the OWN original series and promises to offer deeper reflections and renewed insights into the healing journeys that moved millions.

‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’
Prepare to step back into the world of Westeros with HBO’s second Game of Thrones prequel series. A century before the events of Game of Thrones, there was Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg. Prepare for lots of rain, mud, jousting and riveting TV.

‘CIA’
When by-the-book FBI Special Agent Bill Goodman (Nick Gehlfuss) is loaned out to a clandestine CIA/FBI task force, he finds himself teamed up with secretive and roguish CIA case officer Colin Glass (Tom Ellis). Together, they will work covert operations in New York, uncovering international plots, terrorist cells and geopolitical secrets.

‘The Voice: Battle Of Champions’
Season 29 of The Voice will be a new cycle of the competition series as Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine and John Legend return to the red chairs. All three coaches will compete against each other in a Triple Turn Competition, in which they’ll attempt to score the most 3-chair turns, with the winner gaining a special advantage in the next round.
Original coach CeeLo Green is also expected to return for a few special episodes.

‘Y: Marshals’
With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana.

‘The Testaments’
Hulu’s highly anticipated spinoff will take place 15 years after the events of The Handmaid’s Tale. Narrated by Aunt Lydia, viewers are thrust back into the dystopian future with new characters such as Agnes from Gilead and Daisy from Canada as they secretly gather and smuggle incriminating information about Gilead’s regime out of the country.

‘The Dutton Ranch’
The Yellowstone spinoff is expected to follow fan favorite characters Beth and Rip as they carry on the family legacy — or die trying.
“Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler are grateful for the peace they sought, fought and nearly died for with their 7,000-acre Dutton Ranch,” reads the official logline. “With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter becomes the man he’s supposed to be.”

‘In the City’
Summer House stars Lindsay Hubbard, Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke are expected to star in a spinoff of the hit Bravo reality show. The rest of the cast has yet to be announced.
“In the city that never sleeps, a group of New Yorkers navigate the biggest transitions of their lives — marriage, parenthood, reinvention and the reality of growing up without growing apart,” In the City’s official logline reads. “Can they have it all, or will they need to choose between the lives they’ve built and the futures they never saw coming?”

‘Vought Rising’
Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash are expected to star in another spinoff series in the world of The Boys.
“It’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought,” showrunner Paul Grellong previously told fans at Comic-Con 2024. “We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V.”

‘The Real Housewives of Rhode Island’
As The Real Housewives franchise hits its milestone 20th anniversary in 2026, Bravo is expanding the franchise with The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, spotlighting a fresh, charismatic group of women whose lives intertwine across the storied coastline of New England luxury.
Bachelor Nation’s Ashley Iaconetti navigates the highs and lows of Rhode Island’s close-knit social scene with “friend” Dolores Catania and other cast full-time members who will be new to reality TV.

‘The Madison’
Michelle Pfeiffer, Patrick J. Adams, Matthew Fox and Kevin Zegers star in the Yellowstone spinoff that “follows the McIntosh family, originally from New York City, who live in the Madison River valley of central Montana.”
Filming took place in Montana in late 2024, with additional scenes filmed in New York City and Texas.

‘S.W.A.T.: Exiles’
While Shemar Moore‘s S.W.A.T. spinoff is still looking for a network home, Sony Pictures Television is hard at work on the drama that is also expected to include Jay Harrington and Patrick St. Esprit reprising their roles as Sergeant David “Deacon” Kay and Commander Robert Hicks, respectively.

‘Hope Valley 1874’
Bethany Joy Lenz, Benjamin Ayres and Jill Hennessy are set to star in a prequel for What Calls the Heart on Hallmark.
“Hope Valley: 1874 gives us a wonderful opportunity to further explore the universe of When Calls the Heart and build a deeper world around this show for our devoted fans, who have helped make it one of the most successful and enduring series on television today,” Hallmark Media head of programming, Michelle Vicary, said in a press release. “We’re excited for the Hearties to join us as we tell this rich origin story filled with the kind of heart, community and hope they know and love.”

‘Stuart Fails to Save the Universe’
In July 2025, HBO Max gave a series order to The Big Bang Theory spinoff from Chuck Lorre Productions and Warner Bros. Television.
While details of the project are limited, the show is expected to follow Kevin Sussman’s titular comic book shop owner as he is “tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally bringing about a multiverse Armageddon,” per HBO Max’s official logline.
