Among the major streamers, Amazon Prime Video tends to play its cards close to the chest. That means Prime Video rarely shares a complete look at the month ahead more than a few days before the first.
That makes it difficult to gauge what Prime Video has coming up this winter.

5. ‘Merv’ (2025)
If you want to watch something uplifting this holiday season, Prime Video gave its subscribers an early Christmas present this year with Merv. Charlie Cox and Zooey Deschanel star as estranged former lovers Russ Owens and Anna Finch, respectively. Christmas may be over, but it’s still worth checking out the movie if you’re a fan of sweet rom-coms with impossibly cute animals.
Russ and Anna had a long stint as a couple, and they were co-parenting a dog named Merv, who isn’t taking their separation well. If anything, Merv seems like a nervous wreck without both of his owners around. To get their dog out of a funk, Russ and Anna take him on a vacation to sunny Florida. And being together in the Sunshine State goes a long way towards rekindling a passion for each other that they thought was a thing of the past.

4. ‘Relationship Goals’ (2026)
A romance between Kelly Rowland and Cliff “Method Man” Smith would probably make them a celebrity couple for the ages. But they’re only pretending to be in love in the leading roles of Relationship Goals, an upcoming Prime Video original rom-com.

Specific details about the film have yet to be released, but it was based on and inspired by Relationship Goals: How to Win at Dating, Marriage, and Sex, a book by Michael Todd that examines how to create and maintain a healthy relationship from the beginning. It’s a popular book on Amazon, and likely will be again after this film hits.

3. ‘Steal’ (2026)
Game of Thrones‘ Sophie Turner is set to be the next Lara Croft for Prime Video’s Tomb Raider series. But first, she’ll be starring in Steal, a six-episode crime thriller. Turner plays Zara, and she works at a pension investment firm, Lochmill Capital, alongside her friend, Luke (Archie Madekwe). Their work lives are relatively mundane until a group of armed robbers takes the entire staff hostage and forces Zara and Luke to help them steal the very pensions they were supposed to protect.
Detective Chief Inspector Rhys (Jacob Fortune-Lloyd) is stuck on the outside during the robbery as he tries to figure out what the thieves have planned and how to stop them. But as a chronic gambler who can’t bring himself to stop, Rhys’ investigation will tempt him to indulge his vice with what may be the score of a lifetime.

2. ’56 Days’ (2026)
Some affairs are just destined to end in tears or tragedy. However, the relationship at the heart of 56 Days seemingly concludes in the opening episode as a homicide, and it’s not clear who killed whom in this erotic thriller.
Most of the show unfolds in the 56 days before the discovery of a badly decomposed body. Does it belong to Ciara Wyse (Dove Cameron) or Oliver Kennedy (Avan Jogia)? Their passion for each other burns bright when their relationship is peaking. But when things go terribly wrong, it looks like one of these lovers likely killed their partner.

Nicole Kidman starring in a crime thriller TV series may not have been on your Bingo card, but it’s happening in 2026. Kidman and her costar Jamie Lee Curtis are also executive producing this adaptation of Patricia Cornwell‘s novels. Considering there have been 29 Scarpetta books to date, there’s a lot of material to draw on for the show.

The show follows Kay Scarpetta (Kidman), a pathologist whose work involves some of the most advanced forensic technology available. She’s an incredibly talented investigator with a knack for unraveling the most difficult murder cases. Curtis is playing Kay’s older sister, Dorthy Scarpetta. Kay does have a life outside of the office, but sometimes her work life and personal life collide, and not always in her favor.
