Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide alum Daniel Curtis Lee offered an update on former costar Tylor Chase after getting him into a hotel room for the holidays.
“Happy Holidays,” Lee, 34, captioned a TikTok video shared on Thursday, December 25. “Difficult conversation about Tylor Chase and his recovery journey.”
Lee started his 3-minute video with a message to followers, briefly explaining that he got a call from management after getting Chase off the streets and into a hotel one day prior.
“Just that night, I receive a call from management, they’re upset,” Lee explained. “The door’s left open. Why is there a microwave in the tub? … I just feel so devastated. I am at a loss.”

He continued, “His family told me that they had tried the hotel thing before and it didn’t work.”
Lee appeared to be upset with himself for thinking that he could “fix the situation” with Chase.
“Help should be provided for these people facing mental health issues, drug abuse issues,” he continued. “A third party should be able to get someone into treatment, get them a psychological evaluation to figure out what is going on and allow them to detox.”

Lee told fans he’s “crushed” the system is not working in Chase’s favor.
“There’s no reason why his family should not be able to get him help. I’m really feeling devastated here,” Lee said. “I do want to send a thank you to people that have been supporting, the people on the ground.”
He added, “I think that it is time to put in a call for a 5150 but I also need insight from you all. Do you think that’s fair to have a third party call and get someone entry into a facility when you know they need the treatment and they’re gravely mentally disabled?”
Lee concluded by telling fans that he wants to “do something before it’s too late” for Chase. He also asked followers with insight into a similar situation to reach out.
Details about Chase’s living situation went viral earlier this month after fans of Ned’s Declassified — which aired on Nickelodeon from 2004 to 2007 — shared videos of the former child star, who appeared to be experiencing homelessness.
Lee shared an Instagram video on Tuesday, December 24, of him finding Chase in Riverside, California, getting him food and checking him into a hotel. The duo even FaceTimed with their former costar Devon Werkheiser. (Lee played Cookie, Werkheiser played Ned and Chase appeared as Qwerly on the show.)
“I just wanted him to have, at least, some basic accommodations,” Lee said on Tuesday. “He wanted to stay local and this was the only one that was open and accepting people, so here we are, man.”
After they got Chase set up in the hotel, Lee promised to come back and check in.
“You’re the man, brother. I believe in you and we’re going to win, bro,” Lee said. “All we gotta do is stay with it and keep working, dude.”
