Kim Kardashian revealed how her four children keep her grounded with their candid comments — including asking about her plastic surgery plans.
During the Thursday, December 11, episode of The Kardashians, Kim, 45, documented her morning as the mom of North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5.
“Everything I do is for my kids,” noted Kim, who shares her children with ex-husband Kanye West. “And they always do ground me. Anytime I need a reality check [or] anytime I need to be so humbled, I just go home.”
Kim offered examples of what her kids have told her.

“One kid will be like, ‘You’re so lame. I can’t believe you don’t know what this word means,’” she said. “We’re just like, ‘When are you going to get a facelift like Lovie [Kris Jenner]?’ My kids will say crazy things.”
The reality star became a mother when she welcomed her eldest daughter, North, in 2013. Kim and Kanye, 48, expanded their family three more times before she filed for divorce in February 2021 after nearly seven years of marriage. The proceedings were finalized in November 2022.
After their split, Kanye moved on with Bianca Censori. Kim, meanwhile, opened up about the challenges she faced as a single mother.
“I had the best dad. I don’t want to get emotional, but it’s just been a day for me. It is hard. Coparenting is really f***king hard,” she shared on the “Angie Martinez IRL” podcast in December 2022. “I had the best dad and the best experiences, and that is all I want for my kids. As long as they can have that, that is what I want for them.”
Kim addressed the challenges of trying to prevent her children from seeing their father’s controversial and antisemitic social media posts, adding, “I definitely protected him, and I still will in the eyes of my kids. For my kids. So, in my home, my kids don’t know anything that goes on [in] the outside world. I am holding on by a thread. I know that I am so close to that not happening, but while it is still that way, I will protect that to the end of the earth as long as I can. My kids don’t know anything.”
She continued: “It is [a full-time job]. It is worth it because I think that of course I want to disassociate in specific thoughts and things being said because that is not me. But at the same time, in my home, I could be going through something, but if we are riding to school and they want to listen to their dad’s music — no matter what we are going through — I have to have that smile on my face and blast his music and sing along with my kids. [I can] act like nothing is wrong, and as soon as I drop them off, I can have a good cry.”

More recently, Kim reflected on the ups and downs of parenting solo.
“Sometimes in the middle of the night, when they’re all sleeping in your bed kicking you and crying and waking up — it’s not something that I talk about a lot because I feel like there is always a lot of judgment,” she said on a 2024 episode of the “What the Winkler?” podcast. “Or people always will jump to the, ‘Oh, but you have the resources to have nannies and to have help.’ And I just think that no matter what kind of help I have, I’m basically raising four kids by myself.”
Kanye has also offered his perspective when it comes to raising his kids.
“Even to this day, I’ll still give Kim advice on things that could help because that’s going to go to the kids,” he said on the “Alo Mind Full” podcast in September 2022. “She’s still got them 80 percent of the time, [to] raise those children. So what people saw when I was going back and forth is that I still have to be able to throw my version of what people would throw into the curriculum.”
