Celebrity medium Tyler Henry is recuperating after undergoing a third brain surgery, his second in 2025.
“Hi, everyone. Breaking news! I am healing well,” Henry, 29, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, December 6. “I did have another brain surgery, but they were finally able to remove the cyst that has lived with me since I was born.”
He continued, “Talk about an unwanted roommate, [who is] now evicted.”
Henry was diagnosed with a congenital brain cyst less than one week after his 18th birthday and subsequently underwent emergency surgery. The Life After Death With Tyler Henry star had a second operation in May to remove part of a colloid tumor in his brain.

“Prognosis is great, but the recovery demands a lot of rest and no work for a bit,” Henry added on Saturday. “I’m rescheduling pretty much every event leading up ‘till February. Can’t wait to be back and better than ever.”
According to Henry, his health scare “has been a weight” on his mind for “a long time.”

“This photo was taken a month after my 18th birthday in the backyard of my childhood home. I was doing readings on camera in my small town of Hanford, CA,” Henry wrote via Instagram in August 2023, sharing a throwback set pic. “Only a week later an MRI revealed a congenital brain cyst that led to emergency surgery after weeks of headaches. A mass I was born with was only now causing a life-threatening situation as my adult life was just beginning.”
He added, “Despite all that, this project allowed for one of my most exciting moments as an early medium — reading an entire diner full of strangers, as well as delivering messages in my teenage haunts of China Alley (later featured on @lifeafterdeathnetflix). This experience taught me early on the importance of timing and trust. Without the inevitable brain surgery that ensued, I don’t think I would of had such a firsthand awareness of the fragility of life.”
Henry later revealed earlier this year that his second brain surgery “was a success.”
“Great prognosis, incredible staff, and I feel so thankful to be surrounded by my family,” he wrote via Instagram in May. “I’ll be on bedrest for a month and look forward to getting back to doing readings. … This isn’t my first rodeo with this and I have so much to be thankful for. I’ll see ya’ll very soon with lots of thought-provoking subjects and of course, readings.”
