It’s no joke that Amazon Prime Video has one of the best streaming libraries around.

This December, Watch With Us wants to highlight three movies on the platform that we feel are true masterpieces — two were just added this month, and one is a classic noir that you absolutely can’t miss.

Our first pick is Platoon, an Oscar-winning movie about the Vietnam War starring Charlie Sheen and Willem Dafoe. We’ve also got Invasion of the Body Snatchers, a chilling sci-fi horror starring Donald Sutherland.

Read on to see the full list.

5 Best Prime Video Movies to Watch in November 2025, Ranked by Rotten Tomatoes Rating

‘Platoon’ (1986)

Naive college student Chris Taylor (Sheen) leaves his studies to enlist in the military in 1967 and serve his country in the Vietnam War. Once he gets there, he is faced with the horrors of war as he is plunged into the middle of bloody battle, witnessing his fellow men being killed. When two of his sergeants become split over ideologies involving the innocence of the villagers, Taylor’s squadron is pitted against one another as well.

Based on director Oliver Stone’s own experience serving in the Vietnam War, Platoon is a relentless and realistic depiction of the ugliness of battle led by unforgettable performances from Sheen and Willem Dafoe. The cast also includes Johnny Depp, Forest Whitaker and Keith David. In addition to winning Best Picture at the 59th Academy Awards, Platoon also won Best Director, Best Sound and Best Film Editing.

‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers’ (1978)

Set in San Francisco, Invasion of the Body Snatchers follows health inspector Matthew Bennell (Donald Sutherland), whose colleague Elizabeth (Brooke Adams) suddenly finds her boyfriend acting strangely. Initially chalking it up to marital issues, Matthew and Elizabeth eventually discover the problem is afflicting more and more people, and a terrifying plot is revealed to replace all humans with exact duplicates of themselves.

An absorbing film with themes pertaining to consumerism and conformity, Invasion of the Body Snatchers is a fantastically paranoid sci-fi-thriller conspiracy that is often ranked among the greatest movies of all time. Evocative, atmospheric and with great use of practical effects, Invasion of the Body Snatchers is a 47-year-old film that still feels unmistakably modern.

‘Double Indemnity’ (1944)

This iconic black-and-white noir starring Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray follows insurance salesman Walter Neff (MacMurray), who gets pulled into the murderous scheme of the seductive Phyllis Dietrichson (Stanwyck). Plotting to kill her husband and rake in the insurance money, Phyllis’ plan goes off without a hitch — until Mr. Dietrichson’s daughter gets suspicious and involves an insurance investigator.

7 Must-Watch Sci-Fi Movies on Prime Video Right Now (November 2025)

Stylish, sensual and thrilling, Double Indemnity may be over 80 years old, but it remains an incredibly watchable crime drama with its sharp dialogue, engaging performances and a central mystery that still manages to be riveting despite the audience knowing exactly what’s transpired. Double Indemnity is now considered to be a paradigm example of a classic “film noir”: highly stylized black-and-white films from the ’40s and ’50s with crime narratives and cynical outlooks.
