CAMDEN — United Midcoast Charities is giving a fresh twist to a favorite local tradition with its newly reimagined 12 Days of Giving. The expanded format, running through Dec. 12, builds on the success of UMC’s former Day of Giving by offering more days, more ways to participate and more opportunities for local generosity to shine.
Each day features two local businesses donating a portion of sales, matching customer contributions, or offering special promotions to benefit United Midcoast Charities. Every purchase during the event helps ensure people across Knox and Waldo counties have the support they need to thrive.
Several month-long partners are joining in: The Good Tern Co-op in Rockland and Liberty Graphics in Camen are inviting customers to round up their purchases for UMC and Megunticook Market is matching the first $100 donated at each register.
‘’’12 Days of Giving’ is such a special reminder of how generosity multiplies,” said Becca Gildred, executive director of United Midcoast Charities. “By shopping local, people support the small businesses that anchor our towns — and those businesses, in turn, help us lift up neighbors in need through their donations. It’s a powerful double boost for our community.”
United Midcoast Charities works throughout the year to strengthen the community safety net by supporting local nonprofits focused on food, housing, health and safety, and economic security. Through 12 Days of Giving, that mission comes to life in shops, cafés, and markets all across the Midcoast—turning holiday shopping into an act of compassion and care.
