Meghan Trainor decided to quit drinking coffee after a psychic told her husband, Daryl Sabara, that her caffeine intake was causing her to “crash out.”
“The psychic never met me. My husband was gifted a session with her and she said, ‘Your wife is using coffee like speed. She’s non-stop and it’s not helping her and she’s just crashing out,’” Trainor, 31, told People in an interview published on Saturday, November 29.
“I was like, ‘How does she know that?’ And he came home and told me, and I immediately stopped,” she added. “Cold turkey just stopped because I was drinking it all day to just survive and be steady and then I would crash and be buzzing at night to sleep.”
Trainor married Sabara, 33, in 2018 and the couple share two sons, Riley, 4, and Barry, 2. The “All About That Bass” singer admitted that she was relying on caffeine to keep up with her grueling tour schedule and motherhood demands.

“I wasn’t feeling great. And I was like, ‘I don’t understand. I eat so healthy, I work out. Why do I feel like this?’ And I realized I was overworking myself,” Trainor said, adding that she realized her “adrenals were shot” and her hormones were “so off.”
Although quitting cold turkey was “tough,” Trainor said her new no-coffee routine has been “life-changing” and she has “more energy than ever.”
Trainor recently opened up about her health journey via Instagram in March after she lost 60 pounds.
“I’ve worked with a dietician, made huge lifestyle changes, started exercising with a trainer, and yes, I used science and support (shoutout to Mounjaro!) to help me after my 2nd pregnancy,” she said of GLP-1 injections, which are primarily prescribed to help people who have diabetes with weight management. “And I’m so glad I did because I feel great.”

Earlier this month, she admitted to Entertainment Tonight that the comments about her body have affected her, adding that she doesn’t understand why her weight bothers people so much.
“I’m literally, for the first time ever, after having babies, taking care of my health to the highest level. I’ve never felt better, and I look incredible. I feel great,” Trainor said. “And that’s when people attack me.”
She continued, “I was like, ‘Wait a second. I’m taking care of myself. You don’t like it?’ So what am I supposed to do? I have to find a way to not be affected by that.”
Trainor said her new song, “Still Don’t Care,” released on November 12, is a response to people scrutinizing her appearance.
She sings: “Said I was too thick, then I got way too thin / And I try to stand out, but I wanna fit in / ‘You’re a little too loud,’ ‘Stretch marks on your skin’ / ‘Can’t believe you’re still here, girl, where have you been?’ / Oh, let me take a moment, think it over / Does it touch me at all? / Nope, I still don’t care.”

Trainor is set to head out on the Get in Girl Tour next year in support of her forthcoming album, Toy with Me, which will be released on April 24, 2026.
Of how she plans to manage the hectic routine, Trainor told People, “No sleep, power through and thrive.”
“We get up at 7 a.m. because the kids get up at 7 a.m., and then we go find an amusement park or a museum. They love children’s museums … then we eat lunch together, I do a soundcheck, we have early dinner so that I don’t burp on stage,” she said. “And after soundcheck, I’m in full glam, like pop star outfit, and I’m helping our incredible nanny Leslie, who helps us out and my husband and my mom. There’s four of us on two kids trying to get them in a bath that we unfold to put in this shower. It’s chaos.”
Trainor explained that once the kids are settled on the tour bus, she heads off to her show and hopes to get to bed by midnight.
“And then we get up and it’s Groundhog Day and we do it all over again,” she concluded.
