Troopers from New Hampshire and Maine teamed up early Sunday to stop a vehicle that was speeding and traveling erratically on I-95.
According to the Maine State Police, New Hampshire troopers called just after midnight requesting help stopping a Dodge Ram pickup driven by Matthew Olsen, 44, of Harrison. Olsen had reportedly refused to stop for a local police department in New Hampshire, and during the chase he rammed one of the state police cruisers.
When Olsen crossed into Maine on the turnpike, Maine troopers took over the pursuit. The chase continued north until he drove over a curb at the Kennebunk rest area, damaging his tires before getting back onto I-95. Troopers then disabled the truck.
Olsen was arrested and charged with operating under the influence, eluding an officer, reckless conduct and criminal speeding. He was taken to a local hospital as a precaution before being transported to the York County Jail, police said.
