Throughout season 2 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Jen Shah repeatedly denied any involvement in the alleged crimes that led to her arrest.
In March 2021, the Bravo personality and her assistant Stuart Smith were arrested for their alleged roles in a telemarketing scheme that defrauded hundreds of victims across the United States.
Jen pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing and conspiracy to commit money laundering charges, but her troubles were far from over. While she awaited for her trial to begin, Jen offered insight into the scandal on RHOSLC. (Jen later changed her plea to guilty in 2022.)
“I thought that my entire world was ending,” she told Lisa Barlow during a season 2 episode of RHOSLC in 2021. “Sharrieff felt like he wasn’t being a positive influence in my life. Like, he couldn’t help me. What I didn’t realize was how I was acting and because I hadn’t fully told him how I was feeling, it made him feel like he was the problem.”
Jen was ultimately convicted of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison. She reported to jail in 2023, two years before news broke that she will be released by Christmas 2025.
