Sarah Rafferty knows fans want My Life With the Walter Boys to come back as soon as possible after that potential deadly cliffhanger — and she’s promising season 3 is worth the wait.
“We’re about to finish filming! I just came home from Calgary this weekend for this,” Rafferty, 52, exclusively told Us Weekly at Hilarity for Charity‘s Friendsgiving event on Saturday, November 16. “It’s getting very cold there. It’s so fun.”
Rafferty, who plays Katherine, gushed about her time on set.
“I can tell you that those actors are as easy to love as their characters. They are all the salt of the earth,” she noted. “I think season 3 is chef’s kiss — it’s so beautifully shot and cinematic and has such wonderful story lines.”

Viewers will quickly find themselves “really invested” courtesy of the characters. “I’m really excited for everybody to see season 3,” Rafferty added. “I’m so grateful for how season 2 was received — really grateful.”
Based on Ali Novak‘s book, My Life With the Walter Boys follows recently orphaned Jackie (Nikki Rodriguez), a teenage girl from Manhattan who relocates to rural Colorado after she is taken in by the Walters, a family of seven sons and a daughter. In addition to Rafferty and Rodriguez, the show stars Noah LaLonde, Ashby Gentry, Johnny Link, Corey Fogelmanis, Connor Stanhope, Zoë Soul, Jaylan Evans and Marc Blucas.

“Don’t make me pick a favorite Walter boy,” Rafferty quipped to Us. “The show just keeps progressing and getting more and more beautiful and intriguing. We’ve got such great guest characters and such beautiful locations. It’s so fun.”
Rafferty’s hints about season 3 come after the second season, which aired in August, ended on a shocking cliffhanger. As Jackie found herself caught between her feelings for Cole (LaLonde) and Alex (Gentry), the trio find out that George (Blucas) had a medical emergency and it is unclear whether he will survive.
“I wanted a big finale, and I was always working towards that scene between Jackie, Cole, and Alex,” creator Melanie Halsall told Tudum at the time. “I also always had the idea in my head that the family would have this big crisis, and it would probably be around George.”

Rafferty told Us she’s holding out hope for a fourth season of My Life With the Walter Boys. While taking the night off from filming, Rafferty stepped out to help support Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller‘s Hilarity for Charity, which is a national nonprofit on a mission to care for families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease.
“I try to do lots of things for my own brain health! I try to eat healthy, get a lot of antioxidants, I try to exercise and incorporate movement into every day. I sauna and I want to build that BDNF in my brain. I take a lot of supplements,” she told Us. “I try to eat a lot of omegas, so a lot of fish oil. I try to have a lot of fish, blueberries.”
She continued: “I need to manage stress better. And I need to actually do something about it. I think when I have a minute I’d love to learn some breath work. I think that would be like a powerful way to manage it.”
My Life With the Walter Boys is currently streaming on Netflix.
