Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick has said that Jeffery Epstein is the greatest blackmailer ever. I must disagree with that statement. I think the greatest extortionist is the president of the U.S., Donald Trump.
He has used threats against our foreign allies and our domestic institutions. He has extorted agreements from universities, law firms, states and cities under democratic control, often by threatening to withhold federal funds already allocated by Congress. He threatens those who attempt to protect immigrants, here legally or not, with military violence and withholding of federal money. His tariffs are nothing more than threats of extortion, which are mostly paid by American taxpayers.
All this while he enriches himself and his family at the expense of American institutions and business.
I hope the electorate here in eastern and northern Maine see what he and his enablers are up to. He says his favorite voting base are uneducated citizens. I guess that’s why he won in the 2nd Congressional District.
I hope these voters open their eyes and realize he and any of his backers (i.e. Paul LePage and others) are the greatest threat to our rights and freedoms. It was recently Veterans Day, yet he disrespects those that served to protect those freedoms.
Wake up Maine, he will destroy us if we do not stop him at the ballot box. It needs to stop now.
