
A Bangor man was arrested early Wednesday morning after someone called police to report that they could hear a woman yelling for help.
Based on the call, Bangor police went to a residence at about 5:15 a.m. where an officer allegedly saw Jesse Ramsdell, 28, assaulting a woman who was calling for help and entered the residence to stop the attack, Bangor police said in a press release.
Through an investigation, police said they determined that the victim had been choked and restrained, and a child in the home had also been assaulted.
Ramsdell was arrested and taken to Penobscot County Jail. He was charged with domestic violence aggravated assault, domestic violence assault, criminal mischief and criminal restraint.
