A truck and motorcycle that were reportedly stolen property have been recovered following arrests at an Orrington resident on Monday evening.

The arrests of Carl McCullough, 49, of Orrington and Michael Smith, 60, of Brewer were the results of a monthslong investigation into multiple thefts and burglaries in the area, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.

McCullough has been charged with a Class B charge of burglary and a Class C charge of theft. Smith has been charged with a Class A offense of trafficking scheduled drugs, after officials found more than 60 grams of methamphetamine while executing a search warrant at a Ruby Lane residence at around 5 p.m.

Officials recovered the truck, a motorcycle and an unidentified amount of ammunition at the Runby Lane residence. The Brewer Police Department also obtained an additional warrant to search a Brewer residence later Monday evening. Details on the outcome of that warrant were not provided.

The investigation is ongoing, and further charges may be issued. Anyone with information related to the case can contact the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 207-947-4585.
