BANGOR — The Penobscot Community Health Care Foundation is pleased to announce a $50,000 donation from Bangor Savings Bank, pledged over a two-year period, to advance its mission and statewide impact.
The PCHC Foundation’s mission is to advance the charitable mission of PCHC by supporting the infrastructure, workforce and innovation that make excellent primary healthcare possible and available to all.
“Enhancing access to quality healthcare strengthens the foundation of healthy, vibrant communities,” said Bob Montgomery-Rice, president & CEO of Bangor Savings Bank and chair of the Penobscot Community Health Care Foundation, a philanthropic partner of PCHC. “This gift represents the Bank’s commitment to the PCHC Foundation mission. We hope it will spark inspiration for others and create lasting opportunities for a healthier future.”
As a non-profit, PCHC relies on philanthropy, grants, and partnerships in addition to the insufficient patient service revenue it receives in order to expand access, enhance services and innovate for the benefit of patients. The foundation will strive to advance the charitable mission of PCHC by supporting infrastructure and programming, such as new health centers, expanding social support services in support of primary care, and expanding on the job training programs.
“The PCHC Foundation is committed to ensuring a sustainable future for PCHC,” said Danny Williams, president of the PCHC Foundation. “We are incredibly grateful to Bangor Savings Bank who recognizes that investing in primary care is both a literal and figurative investment in the health of our community. Every dollar counts and is impactful to every patient, which allows us to help staff, equip and care for more patients.”
PCHC employs more than 700 people and reinvests $68 million in wages into Maine’s economy. It serves more than 53,000 patients annually with medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy and other specialty outpatient services.
