Authorities have released new surveillance footage of a man wanted in connection to the shooting of New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd, who remains in critical condition.
The suspect — last spotted wearing a black hat, black sweatshirt and black pants and carrying a book bag — was caught on camera where the incident occurred in Manhattan on Sunday, November 16. No arrests have been made at this time, and the New York Police Department is looking for help in identifying the man in the surveillance photos.
Boyd, 29, was shot in the abdomen outside the midtown restaurant Sei Less after a fight broke out. Two shots were fired.
The athlete was reportedly in and out of consciousness as he was rushed to Bellevue Hospital. It is not yet clear if Boyd had any relationship with the shooter, and officials are still looking into what led up to the dispute.

A spokesperson for the Jets issued a statement to ESPN’s Rich Cimini after news broke of the incident, noting, “We are aware of the situation involving Kris Boyd and will have no further comment at this time.”

The Jets did not play on Sunday after losing to the New England Patriots on Thursday, November 13. Boyd began his NFL career after being drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2019, playing four seasons with the team before joining the Arizona Cardinals in 2023. He signed with the Houston Texans the following year before taking a one-year, $1.6 million deal with the Jets ahead of the current season.
Boyd has been on the team’s injured reserve list since August due to a preseason shoulder injury.
As news of Boyd’s condition made waves on Sunday, several members of the NFL community spoke out to share messages of support.
“Praying for @TexasFootball alum, and current Jets player, Kris Boyd. This is too much man,” NFL commentator Emmanuel Acho wrote via X.

Boyd’s Jets teammate Jermaine Johnson issued a social media statement of his own, writing, “Everybody please send prayers to my brother and teammate Kris Boyd and his family!!! Lord please hold your healing hand over Kris and guide him back to health and safety. Lord I ask that you please just get him through this safely. In your name, Amen.”
Defensive tackle Harrison Phillips added in a post, “Lord, place your mighty hand on him as he fights lord God. Guide every doctor, nurse, and surgeon who touches him lord. Give his family strength! Kris is a fighter and we’re all here for him.”
Eric Adams, the outgoing mayor of New York City, also joined in on the conversation. “I am praying for New York Jets player Kris Boyd and his loved ones,” he tweeted. “Although we’ve gotten shootings to historic lows in our city, we must continue to work to end gun violence. Too many young lives have been tragically altered and cut short by this epidemic.”
