BANGOR — The Bangor Area Youth Choirs are returning this fall with a refreshed program offering a renewed focus on accessibility and creativity for young singers across the region.
After taking a brief hiatus to reassess community needs, BAYC is introducing a new 6–8 week session format, designed to make it easier for busy students and families to participate in meaningful musical experiences throughout the year. Each session will center around a specific performance project or opportunity — beginning this winter with their participation in a beloved annual collaboration “The Nutcracker” featuring The Bangor Symphony Orchestra, Robinson Ballet and BAYC held at the Collins Center for the Arts.
“Our goal is to make choir participation and singing more flexible and in turn, more rewarding,” says Artistic Director Molly J. Webster. “Shorter (6-8 week) sessions allow us to adapt to local students’ incredibly busy sports and personal schedules while still offering the high-quality, community-centered music-making BAYC has always been known for.”
BAYC welcomes all area youth grades 4-12 who love to sing, connect and grow through music while making friends. No audition is required, just a willingness to learn and participate.

The Bangor Area Youth Choirs is a community-based organization dedicated to “Helping Youth Discover Their Voice” by providing meaningful choral experiences for young singers in the greater Bangor area.
