Netflix is rarely short on fresh movies for its subscribers, and it has another great lineup of films in November.

There were so many terrific options to choose from that it can be a challenge to narrow the selection down.

That’s what the Watch With Us team is for, and we’ve decided on three new Netflix movies to watch in November 2025, as ranked by IMDb.

Our picks include a wildly underrated musical, a memorable horror sequel and one of the best movies we’ve seen this year.

5 Most Anticipated New Netflix Movies of Fall 2025, Ranked

3. ‘In the Heights’ (2021)

IMDb rank: 7.2

Wicked: For Good is out in theaters this month, but the director of that film and its predecessor, Jon M. Chu, helmed a musical adaptation in 2021 that was missed by just about everyone. In the Heights is based on the musical by Hamilton‘s Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegría Hudes, the latter of whom wrote the script for the film.

The story takes place in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York, as bodega owner Usnavi de la Vega (Anthony Ramos) dreams of a better life outside of the United States by going to his father’s homeland in the Dominican Republic. Meanwhile, the woman Usnavi loves, Vanessa Morales (Melissa Barrera), has her own dreams of becoming a fashion designer. But their dueling ambitions and other problems may keep them apart. There’s lots of singing and dancing along the way, and the story of another couple, Benny (Corey Hawkins) and Nina Rosario (Leslie Grace), unfolds as well.

In the Heights is streaming on Netflix.

2. ‘Doctor Sleep’ (2019)

IMDb rank: 7.3

Stephen King‘s Doctor Sleep is a sequel to The Shining, the latter of which is considered to be one of the all-time great horror movies. Doctor Sleep doesn’t quite hit those heights, but it’s an engaging story about the last survivor of the Overlook Hotel, Danny Torrance (Ewan McGregor).

Danny descends into alcoholism to deal with the literal ghosts from his experience, but he also finds reasons to turn his life around. As his powers expand, Dan befriends a young girl, Abra Stone (Kyliegh Curran), whose abilities may dwarf his own. The nearly immortal Rose the Hat (Rebecca Ferguson) and her gang of psychic vampires want to drain Abra dry. To save her, Dan will put his own life and soul on the line.

Doctor Sleep is streaming on Netflix.

1. ‘Frankenstein’ (2025)

IMDb rank: 7.7

If Guillermo del Toro‘s new version of Mary Shelley‘s Frankenstein doesn’t rack up a lot of awards and nominations, then it’s going to be an upset. This is the most artfully made monster movie since del Toro’s The Shape of Water, which is, of course, the film that earned him the Academy Awards for Best Director and Best Picture.

Oscar Issac steps into the title role as Victor Frankenstein, a man who is too brilliant for his time. Victor arrogantly believes he can create life, and he brings forth a creature (Jacob Elordi) that is too hideous to pass for human. The creature also has his own wants and desires, and a conflict with his creator is inevitable.

Frankenstein is streaming on Netflix.
