Content creator Alex Madison is reflecting on how different life can be after welcoming her and husband Jon Bouffard’s daughter following a 2024 pregnancy loss.
“I mean, it’s definitely a 180 from the last holiday season,” Madison exclusively told Us Weekly, while promoting her partnership with Shutterfly. “I think we were not feeling any type of joy last year. So this year, it is a little bit of a double edged sword, where we’re able to be so appreciative and grateful for the season of life that we’re currently in, while recognizing, without going through that hard season of life, we wouldn’t have this.”
Madison explained that she and Bouffard are “finding space” for joy and grief to “exist together.”
“It’s as painful as I want it to be,” she noted. “We’ve done a lot of growth and a lot of healing, but I think that we need to give ourselves permission to really find the joy in this season and soak it in with our daughter. It is our first year, our first holiday season, as a family of three, and it’s something that we’ve been looking forward to now for a few years of just growing our family and being able to enjoy this time. It’s just allowing ourselves to be able to soak it all in and really feel it.”

The couple, who rose to fame online with their skit-based comedy, shared in June 2024 that Madison experienced a pregnancy loss. One year later, Madison and Bouffard revealed they were expecting again. They welcomed daughter Lucy in August.
“She’s growing so much and learning so much every day,” Madison shared of the pair’s daughter. “Just showing her our Christmas tree in our house and seeing her eyes light up, I’m like, ‘This is your first time seeing a Christmas tree.’ Realizing that, it feels like a lot of pressure, but at the same time, I’m also like, ‘She’s not going to remember this.’”
While the memories may be fleeting for Lucy, Madison shared that she’s capturing the holiday magic thanks to Shutterfly — where she’s creating a photo book on top of her personalized gifting collection.
“It felt really seamless of a partnership because they have their gifting element with so many different products. It just feels endless the amount of fun products that they have that you could customize and personalize,” Madison shared. “Having our daughter, we were able to customize gifts for our parents and fun gag gifts for our friends.”

Madison also teamed up with Shutterfly to reveal her family’s holiday card, a tradition she and Bouffard hadn’t done in the past.
“My husband and I, I have to be honest, have never really been into holiday cards in the past. We loved getting them, of course, and seeing other people’s families, but we were just like, ‘We don’t need to take the time to take a photo of ourselves to share with family and friends,’” Madison shared of their thought process. “It just felt pointless, until we had our daughter, and then I was like, ‘I get the hype now.’”
Now, Madison noted that she and Bouffard are looking forward to their loved ones receiving a photo of Lucy in the mail.
“We want to show her off. We want to say, ‘Look at our beautiful family. We should hang on your refrigerator for the rest of the year,’” she quipped. “And hopefully, that’s where people display us.”
