UPDATE: 11/13/25 at 9:27 a.m. ET — Mark Wahlberg has offered a health update on his daughter Grace after a recent “terrifying” accident at an equestrian competition.
“She’s doing great,” Wahlberg, 54, told Access Hollywood on Tuesday, November 11. “It’s a very, very dangerous sport, but she’s so passionate about it.”
He added,”All she wanted to do was get back on that horse, no pun intended. But she was chomping at the bit, and worried that we would deem the sport too dangerous. But she’s so passionate, so dedicated.”
Wahlberg further praised his daughter for the “discipline” of getting up before the sunrise for horse training.
“I kind of adopted that discipline becoming a parent,” he continued. “For her to have it at such a young age.”

‘Dancing With the Stars’ Injuries Through the Years
Although no other updates have been shared about Grace’s particular injury, according to Durham’s Instagram, her daughter competed at Desert Horse Park in Thermal, California and placed in events on three different horses. “Chow- 🥇🏆 champion for 1.30 Cheeto- 🥇🏆 champion for 1.20 Cruise- 🥈 reserve champion 1.10 Congratulations Grace!!!! 🥕🌟💫🔥🌵🏇🏽,” Durham, 47, shared.
The former model — who shares Grace, Ella, 22, Michael, 19, Brendan, 17, with her husband of 16 years — also posted a motivating quote: “Sometimes I just look up, smile and say, ‘I know that was you. Thank you.’”
“Things could always be worse. Remember that one. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼,” she captioned the post.
Wahlberg has been open about sharing his spectator point of view at equestrian events, taking to Instagram with photos and videos from Grace’s shows.
He’s also spoken about her impressive horseback riding skills, telling People in 2023, “She works out now. She’s an equestrian. She now wants to go up in meters and to be a Grand Prix Jumper. She’s got to train.”
He continued, “She’s doing things that my other kids are kind of now starting to think, ‘Well, we’ve got to start doing something because she’s got it all figured out, what she wants to do and how she wants to do it.’”

Wahlberg left California and moved to Nevada with his family in 2022 to give them “a better life.”
“To be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams, whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer, this made a lot more sense for us,” he explained on The Talk at the time. “We came here to just kind of give ourselves a new look, a fresh start for the kids, and there’s a lot of opportunity here. I’m really excited about the future.”
Reportedly, he also purchased a home in Florida last month.

“For me, everything I do now, it’s for my kids. It’s for their future,” Wahlberg exclusively shared with Us Weekly at Amazon’s Play Dirty world premiere in September. “I try to find that balance. They came to Australia while I was making this movie to visit.”
He was supported by several family members, including his kids, on the red carpet in New York City.
“[I’m] trying to find that balance of spending quality time with them,” he added to Us, “and then also being able to fulfill my creative endeavors.”
