Five people have been hospitalized after a pickup truck driver hit a downed tree and then an SUV in Minot on Wednesday morning.
Sherwood Jordan, 73, of Bethel was driving a red 1989 Ford F-150 pickup truck on Center Minot Hill Road toward Auburn about 8:13 a.m. when he hit a downed tree, lost control, crossed the centerline and collided with a gray 2025 Toyota RAV4, according to the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office.
Jordan, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was partially ejected.
His passenger, Mitzie Naples, was taken to the hospital along with the Toyota’s driver, 16-year-old Howie Wu of Brooklyn, New York, and his two passengers, according to the sheriff’s office.
The crash remains under investigation, and the sheriff’s office isn’t releasing more information right now.
